Who wins at life?

The experience of being frustrated in the middle makes me hesitate to create a new attempt. I looked back on the things I gave up through meditation. I started passionately to do something in the beginning. But a few days later, I didn’t want to do it, and I became lazy.

Who wins in life? Who will be the last one to laugh? The essential virtue in succeeding in life is that he doesn’t give up no matter what he does.

Throughout my life, I gave up numerous times. From daily routines to life goals, I plan and give up countless times, small and large. In the study, in work, in relationships with people. The experience of giving up halfway is recorded as a failure in life. The bitter taste of frustration becomes an obstacle to new attempts, and the vicious cycle repeats. Some parts have been prosperous, but the experience of giving up remains darker and deeper than the memory of success. In the future, I want to be a person who finally achieves whatever I do when I start. So I looked back on my failure. Why did I give up then? In order not to give up, what should I do? After looking back through meditation, the conclusion is as follows.

1. Build your body’s strength.

People are composed of body and mind. Just because I am determined to achieve this goal doesn’t mean that I can do it to the end. If my physical strength does not support me, I will eventually give up halfway. While I worked in the company, I studied for some certificates. I woke up at dawn and went to the academy before work, but I had been hospitalized several times because I ran out of physical strength while pushing myself without taking care of myself. I started exercising to develop fundamental physical strength from then on. However, I don’t think I worked out so hard. As I got older, I got quickly exhausted when I worked, read books, and studied. I heard that muscle mass decreases as you get older, so you have to exercise your muscles. I found a YouTube video of Kim Yong-ok, a Korean philosopher and thinker, showing his upper body full of strength. He worked out himself with parallel bars and a chin-up bar at home. He is now 73 years old.

His muscular body explained his vigorous writing and lecture activities. It says that exercise can put the brain in the best condition and do mental activity well. The basis of all abilities is physical strength. So I’m adding push-ups and plank to my daily routine that I can do at home in the age of Pandemics.

2. Remove the cause of giving up.

The experience of being frustrated in the middle makes me hesitate to create a new attempt. I looked back on the things I gave up through meditation. I started passionately to do something in the beginning. But a few days later, I didn’t want to do it, and I became lazy. I thought why there was no result as expected. I always expected faster results than focusing on the process. So I got tired quickly. And I had no habit of continuing it. I did it today, and I changed the time the next day. It wasn’t easy to maintain and gain experience of success. In the end, I quit, making excuses that it didn’t fit me, saying that it must be a sour grape. This pattern was repeated, and I wasted my energy worrying a lot about even something I am good at.

Looking back through meditation, the experience of failure comes to mind. I discard all the stories of quitting. When the negative mind disappears, my mind calms down, and positive energy rises.

3. make it into the habit of success.

With the power of the mind, I set visible goals for areas I am interested in and what I have to do. Establish sub-detailed goals by specifying those goals.

The detailed implementation plan to achieve the clear goals is summarized in the timeline. I use my diary to divide the year plan into work, daily life, English study, reading books, research, and make monthly plans, weekly plans, and daily plans accordingly. I make a daily schedule every 30 minutes and implement it. I check what I did during the day. When the day is over, I will have time to reflect on the day. I reflect on what has not been done and add it to tomorrow’s plan. Through meditation, I look back on my state of mind today. I wrap up the day by looking back and recording what was thrown away in a diary.

When I was young, I once had a false expectation that something great might happen to me. But just because I dream of changing myself, it doesn’t happen. My goal to succeed is possible only when it is put into practice. If you’re doing it now, it’s only natural that you’ll get the result of the success on the last day of your plan. If you are not doing it now, there will be no results a month later and a year later. Only what I did has consequences. The experience of success becomes a habit, and a sense of satisfaction becomes nourishment for achieving more meaningful goals. You can be a successful person who does not give up. It is the way I think you win at life. Thank you for reading it.
