On Netflix, I watched a drama called <Hellbound>. With powerful video and music, this wonderful drama tells the story of polarization, religion, and discrimination, which are growing social problems in Korean society. The movie argues that religion arises from ignorance of life, death, and the afterlife, which are unsolved problems of mankind. And it says that the question of whether God exists and the monopoly of interpretation of supernatural phenomena is the cause of human inequality and violent power relations.
Humans cannot explain death and life clearly. No idea what the afterlife is like. Moreover, it didn’t solve the crimes where good people were victims of money and power. So, it seems like this absurdity is poured into a huge hole called religion. These are problems we can’t solve with our knowledge.
Park Jung-JA, who was killed by the Death Angels, is resurrected at the end of the movie, signaling the beginning of a new season. Man’s ignorance of death and life has been used to destroy a religion monopolizing power.
I do not know the will of God. I can’t even explain life and death. I am ignorant. It is my own opinion that I judged good and evil in my life. I have no wisdom. So I wanted to get rid of my fake thoughts. My thirst for Truth is what drives me to meditate. To find Truth, I have to clear my mind of all the false stuff.
The history of mankind was incomplete until now, but now is the era of completion. In other words, when our humanity is complete, the problem of inequality and discrimination will be solved. Above all, you’ll find answers to life and death. Those who have Truth can teach it to others and make people Truth. People who have True don’t live for themselves, like the religious people in <Hellbound>, they live for others and for the world. You might have wondered about these issues in your life, too.
